Karin Lehrich, MD, is an academic Urologist at the department of Urology in the Vivantes Auguste-Victoria-Hospital Berlin, Germany, which is a Teaching Hospital of Berlin University, Charite. She specialised as an Urological surgeon at the AVK, Berlin and University Hospital Charite, Berlin. In 2002 she finished her doctorate thesis “ Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate adenomas compared to open prostatectomy of prostates larger than 100g“ and subspecialised in Endourology, transurethral BPO surgery, Laser techniques and the technique of holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP).
Since 2012 she is Head of Urological Laser Center Berlin, ULZB. She has performed live-HoLEPs in several international surgery meetings, workshops and given presentations at international meetings. Training of other doctors in the technique of HoLEP is a main topic next to clinical work and mentoring at the holmium academy.
