Prof. Dr. Oguz Acar was born in Istanbul in 1964. He has received his medical degree from Istanbul University Istanbul Medical School and completed his residency in Urology at the Ministry of Health Beyoglu Public Hospital. From 1992 to 1994, he has pursued clinical and scientic studies on urooncology in Germany at the Frankfurt University Medical School Offenbach Academic Hospital Urology Clinic (Dir: Prof. U. W. Tunn). Dr. Acar has started working as specialist of urology at the Kocaeli University Medical School Urology Department (Dir: Prof. A. Gökalp) and became Assistant Professor in 1995. He has pursued his clinical and scientific studies on urooncology for another 1,5 years in 1997-1999 at the Zurich University Medical School Urology Clinic in Switzerland. He has received training on urologic laparoscopy in Switzerland at the Basel University Medical School Urology Clinic in 2005, and has initiated practice and studies on this area at his home university. Dr. Acar was awarded Associate Professor degree in 2000 and Professor degree in 2006. He is working in Memorial Sisli Hospital Urology Clinic as chair of department since 12 years (2007-2019). He currently pursues his studies predominantly on endourology and urooncology. Dr. Acar has authored 30 publications and 50 presentations internationally. He speaks German and English, in addition to his native language Turkish.
